The construction of the bazaar of Zanjan began during the rule of king Agha Mohammad Khan Ghajar and finished in the king Fathali Shah period in late 18^th century.

In 1903 several cultural centers including mosques , traditional public baths and caravansaries were added to the set. The bazaar set divided the ancient texture of the city in the from of a direct line entitled upward and downward bazaar , into two eastern and western section.
